ASUS Eee PC 1000HA 10-Inch Netbook (1.6 GHz Intel ATOM N270 Processor, 1 GB RAM, 160 GB Hard Drive) Pearl White

Last January, I ordered a 1000HA for my wife. It arrived damaged; it would not boot up. Well, these things happen. So I returned it to ASUS for repair. When they failed to acknowledge receipt of netbook, I called the service number and was told that it had reached the repair shop in Indiana, had been fixed and would be returned shortly. I was unable to track the service on the ASUS website. A few days later, ASUS returned the computer. Now it wouldn't even turn on. I called again and was instructed to send it to California. They acknowledged receipt of the machine there, but then went silent. After a week or so, I called and discovered that the computer I sent to California was not the computer I had sent to Indiana. Apparently they had repaired my computer and sent it to someone else, returning to me another defective machine. However, since the serial number I had reported to California (which was the number of the original machine) did not match the number on the unit I sent them, the work order kept being tossed. They let the unit sit in the shop and wouldn't work on it. No one could or would make a decision. I called them four or five times over the next month and, finally, after going ballistic on the last call, they sent me a machine. I doubt if its the one I sent them. It works, probably as well as it can but really not that great. My wife doesn't like it.
The question to ask yourself is, with all the similar netbooks being sold by other, far more reliable vendors, do you really want to do business with ASUS? Its the last time I will.Get more detail about ASUS Eee PC 1000HA 10-Inch Netbook (1.6 GHz Intel ATOM N270 Processor, 1 GB RAM, 160 GB Hard Drive) Pearl White.
